Amazon has 30+ non-fiction books available on Kindle starting at $1.99, including Atlas Obscura: An Explorer’s Guide to the World’s Hidden Wonders for $2.99!

This book just came out last fall, much to my delight. The Atlas Obscura is an amazing collection of strange and wonderful things around the world. And a great gift idea for both seasoned and armchair traveler alike, provided they enjoy the strange and quirky!

From the online description:

Talk about a bucket list: here are natural wonders—the dazzling glowworm caves in New Zealand, or a baobob tree in South Africa that’s so large it has a pub inside where 15 people can drink comfortably. Architectural marvels, including the M.C. Escher-like stepwells in India. Mind-boggling events, like the Baby Jumping Festival in Spain, where men dressed as devils literally vault over rows of squirming infants. Not to mention the Great Stalacpipe Organ in Virginia, Turkmenistan’s 40-year hole of fire called the Gates of Hell, a graveyard for decommissioned ships on the coast of Bangladesh, eccentric bone museums in Italy, or a weather-forecasting invention that was powered by leeches, still on display in Devon, England.

Amazon also has a bunch of classics available for free on Kindle right now (h/t: Slickdeals)! These are books in the public domain so you can get them for free from a bunch of sources, but these have been cleaned up and formatted well to make for easier reading. So a good chance to revisit your favorites or catch up from high school 🙂
