February’s Sample Society Goes Electronic
There was a surprise waiting in my Sample Society box this month! In addition to a fun selection of items, there was a note announcing that the details about my shipment would now be exclusively online.
I don’t think I’m a fan of this change. The first reason is because “starting this month” the information will be delivered via email. Except, though my box arrived, the email never did. I even checked my Spam folder but there was nothing. Fortunately, they also list your box contents on the website, so you can access it there.
That leads to my second reason for not liking it. It takes away the fun of getting a package! To actually know what I’ve gotten, I’ll need to be near my email or internet browser. And if I read the email in advance, I’ve lost all the fun of surprise when the box gets here 🙁
But anyway, on to the box which was not as disappointing as the format change!
First up, two Ahava products. I’ve particularly wanted to try them since I missed out on the amenity basket at the Le Meridien Dead Sea!  There was a 5ml sample of the Ahava Osmoter Concentrate which retails at $60 for 30ml and a travel size bottle of Ahava Deadsea Water Mineral Body Lotion, which retails for a more modest $24.50 for 8.5 oz.
Hair was the theme of the next two items. I’m intrigued to try the Alterna Bamboo Volume 48 Hour Sustainable Volume Spray. I’ve become a big fan of the Sebastian Professional Potion 9 I received in a Glossybox last year and the amika Bombshell Blowout Spray from September’s Birchbox, but this could be a contender. I don’t have much hair damage, so I typically don’t use hair masks, but I’ll give the Phyto Phytokeratine Mask ($39) a shot.
The last item was as exciting as the Ahava products! A 5ml bottle of Murad Environmental Shield Active Radiance Serum ($89 for 1oz).
I wish they hadn’t switched to the all digital format — if they wanted to save paper I’d do without the shredded paper filler — but the quality of this month’s box offsets the disappointment.
If you’re interested in trying Sample Society out, feel free to use my referral code:Â KERI2337. It will give me referral credit and you should get 20% off a purchase from one of their non-BeautyBar.com sites (that makes no sense to me…).
I love the Ahava lotion, that stuff works like a charm. Enjoy!
