Update on Expedia Rewards Redemptions
I posted earlier about a lower bar for redeeming Expedia Rewards points through May 17. A reader asked if only one coupon could be redeemed at a time. Since I’d never had enough points to redeem, I didn’t know. Now I do.
You can only redeem one coupon at a time. 🙁
I tested it out on our hotel room for the Freddie Awards on Thursday night. Since my Marriott silver status gets us nothing, there was no harm in booking through a third party site. Accordingly I first redeemed enough points for a $10 coupon and then enough for a $5 coupon.
When I went to redeem I discovered two things.
1. You can only use one coupon per reservation (as expected).
2. You can only redeem an award for reservations paid at the time of booking (which is the same as Orbitz, though they have a more generous cancellation policy).
So, I’m glad I was able to use at least $10 worth of points, but this has only increased my love of Orbitz Rewards!
