Act Fast: Decent Redemption Option for Verizon Smart Rewards Points

It’s a rare moment — Verizon Smart Rewards (not to be confused with Verizon Rewards+) has a deal that can be redeemed using only points.
My complaint about this so-called rewards program is most of the redemptions are terrible. They require both cash + points and typically only offer a 10% discount off retail (if that), which you can find through other sources. But occasionally they offer something available with just points, such as magazine subscriptions.
Today’s Daily Deal is decent though! (h/t: Slickdeals) Through tomorrow, December 14 2PM ET or until the deal sells out, you can get a $5 Verizon Wireless Ringtones Gift Card for only 500 points!
To access the deal:
- Login to Verizon Smart Rewards (if you don’t have an account, this program is not worth signing up for)
- Click on the Daily Deals link in the navigation
- If the Verizon Wireless Ringtones Gift Card comes up, click “Add to Shopping Cart” and checkout. Note: If you get a message saying “All Items Are Currently In Carts” the deal is still available, just stay on the page until you can add to cart. It took about 3 minutes for one to become available when I tried.
